We will continue in our "Foundations" series this Sunday with a look at Shepherds using Jeremiah 23:1-8. As we begin our annual elder identification process, it is important for us to remember that, above all else, elders are intended to have the heart of shepherds, those who know and care for their sheep. Just as Jesus is the good shepherd who laid down his life for the sheep, elders are intended to live sacrificially for others, and it is important for all of us to remember that we are indeed sheep who were created to be shepherded, both now and in eternity.
