Recommended Psalms, Part 2
Last week I offered some of my favorite psalms from Book 2 of the Psalms. This week, in light of looking at Psalm 89 this past Sunday, I am offering some of my favorite psalms from Book 3, which includes Psalms 73-89. Beside each one, there is a description of the main theme of that psalm. I hope you enjoy these as much as I have:
1. Psalm 73: corporate gathering with the people of God creates wisdom in our day-to-day lives
2. Psalm 77: remembering God’s past deeds gives us confidence for the present and future
3. Psalm 81: the Lord’s desire is that his people would listen to him and desire him above all else
4. Psalm 84: being in God’s presence with others is the most enjoyable experience in the universe
5. Psalm 86: we should appeal to the Lord in times of trouble because he is eternally “merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness”
