Sexuality Resources

Sexuality Resources

Below are the books I used in preparing for this sermon series. I have categorized and provided a brief description of each:

First, a stand-alone book that covers a variety of issues around sexuality, marriage, and family in a very thorough way is God, Marriage, and Family by Andreas Kostenberger.

Next, two books that provide a good overview of what the Bible says about sex in general are:
  • What is the Meaning of Sex? by Denny Burk
  • Sex and the Supremacy of Christ edited by John Piper and Justin Taylor

Three books that treat homosexuality specifically are:
  • Is God Anti-Gay? by Sam Allberry
  • What does the Bible Teach about Homosexuality? by Kevin DeYoung
  • Love into Light by Peter Hubbard

Three books that provide first-hand accounts of those who have walked through the struggle of experiencing same sex attraction are:
  • The Secret Thoughts of an Unlikely Convert by Rosaria Butterfield
  • Gay Girl, Good God by Jackie Hill Perry
  • Washed and Waiting by Wesley Hill

Two books that treat homosexuality within a broader framework of “hot topic” issues are:
  • Counterculture by David Platt
  • Confronting Christianity by Rebecca McLaughlin
